The Effects of Temperature
There are several factors that could affect as to the duration of how long your spray paint would dry up.
Most paints usually have the optimal temperature between 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Meaning, if it is hotter than the mentioned temperature, this could have a negative effect on the drying time. Keep in mind and take note that the hotter temperature the more it is not best for drying paint.
On the other hand, colder temperature is not necessarily worse. This means you would not want your paint to be cold as well as it could freeze your wet paint. Material

Other Factors to Consider

Keep in mind that if the wind is powerful, the paint would dry faster. However, it could also spread it around which you will have to consider doing your project another day.
Humidity on the other hand could have a small effect. If you are in an area that has very high humidity, the paint could take a longer time to dry. The reason behind this is due to the moisture in the air. Hence, if the humidity is high the more moisture the more your paint will be moist. This means if the humidity is low, the paint could dry quicker.
Lastly, you will also have to consider how thick the paint layer you are painting. Applying thicker would make the paint dry longer. This is the reason why we recommend that you apply spray paint in light layers. This way it would also prevent the paint from running.
Does Paint Have to Be Completely Dry Before Adding Another Coat?
The answer to that question would be no especially when you are applying another coat. Instead, you could apply the next coat when the paint is semi-dry which is about 5 minutes. This way, you could cut down the overall waiting time.
How Can You Make Spray Paint Dry Faster?
Ventilation is one of the factors that could ensure that your spray paint dries quickly. Hence, we highly recommend that you do your project in the presence of fans or in a safe place outside on a windy day.
Apply a thin coat of paint. This way it would dry faster. Also keep in mind that when the humidity is high, you might want to consider continuing your project to another day.
